By far, the most common type of heart infection that can lead to myocarditis is viral. Today, reports increased chances of being susceptible in the “new reality” of pathogenic living conditions. Inflammation can result from any hostile substance in the body, from fungi to parasites to toxins and more. Some cases of myocarditis are even caused by hypersensitivity to certain drugs or insect bites, as well as unhealed heart injuries.
Severe myocarditis weakens the heart so that the rest of the body doesn't get enough blood. As a result, clots that form in the heart can lead to a stroke or heart attack.
When the body detects viruses in its system, it produces cytokines to fight them. These tiny proteins are designed to interfere with the virus’s signaling abilities and keep it from reproducing. The downside, however, is that cytokines can also inflame the heart.
Myocarditis is a disease that causes inflammation of the heart muscle. This inflammation enlarges and weakens the heart, creates scar tissue, and forces it to work harder to circulate blood and oxygen throughout the body.
Common symptoms of myocarditis can include, but are not limited to:
Shortness of breath, especially after exercise or when lying down
Fatigue
Heart palpitations
Chest pain or pressure
Lightheadedness
Swelling in the hands, legs, ankles, and feet
A sudden loss of consciousness

H2 penetrates bio-membranes and effectively reaches cell nuclei. H2 selectively scavenges ·OH and ONOO- and thus prevents DNA damage.
Additionally, oxidative stress induced by viral infections could exacerbate the DNA methylation defect which may result in further angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2, a functional receptor for the viral spike glycoprotein that allows the entry into cells) hypomethylation and enhanced viremia. H2, as an antioxidant, may downregulate ACE2 expression through epigenetic control of the ACE2 gene. (Source)
