What We Learnt from The Mitochondrial Theory of Aging
Free Radical Theory and the Mitochondrial Theory of Aging Analyzed for the Best Life-Extension Technologies
Greetings!
I hope you’re enjoying good weather and happy vibes.
Over the course of the last 12 years we've heard from more and more, and still more people suffering from chronic pain and declining neuro health. According to articles I've been reading recently, most of the run-of-the-mill diagnostic tests are plagued with a high statistical probability of a false result and many times the tests are simply ineffective to diagnose a problem. Probably the worst thing that can happen to someone with disease is they're told they don't have it.
A false negative can result in not treating the root cause at all, and that in turn can lead to chronic physical and neurological symptoms. So before we discuss the complexities of aging and maintaining youthful energy, we have to be mindful of our strategy and perspective of health management first.
Anti-aging technologies today are advanced enough to provide cellular effects that reverse many of the processes found in well accepted aging theories. Here are 2 aging theories that are most well accepted along with evidence on how the wellness technologies we work with, i.e., PEMF, Molecular Hydrogen and LLLT “talk” to the aging research.
The Free Radical Theory
The free radical theory of aging suggests that aging is caused by accumulation of damage by reactive oxygen species (ROS). This theory explains the contribution of oxidative damage to the aging process.
A free radical is any atom or molecule that has a single unpaired electron in an outer shell. While a few free radicals such as melanin are not reactive, most relevant free radicals are highly reactive. For most biological structures, free radical damage is closely associated with oxidative stress. Antioxidants limit oxidative damage to biological structures from free radicals.
The Mitochondrial Theory of Ageing
In 1956 Denham Harman first postulated the free radical theory of ageing, which he later modified to the mitochondrial free radical theory of ageing (MFRTA). He found ROS as the main cause of damage to macromolecules, known as “ageing”. He later modified his theory because he found that mitochondria were producing and being damaged by ROS, leading him to the conclusion that mitochondria determine ageing. In 1972, he published his theory in the Journal of the American Geriatrics Society.
He suggested that the maximal life span is largely an expression of genetic control over the rate of oxygen utilization. The latter determines the rate of accumulation of mitochondrial damage produced by free radical reactions, the rate increasing with the rate of oxygen consumption, which ultimately causes death.
Yes, reality is fractal in nature and so is biology. Crack the fractal formula and suddenly anti-aging and super human existence becomes a distinct possibility.
PEMF, Molecular Hydrogen and Low-level light (near infrared) for Anti-aging
Inhaling hydrogen can reduce oxidative stress and inflammation. While PEMF therapy also reduces oxidative stress, Hydrogen will do a lot more and better.
A breakthrough study was published where they dissected cadaver brains of people who'd suffered from Alzheimers. Every one of them had fungi in one part of the brain or another. Are you beginning to see the pattern here?...where many of our diseases are caused by stealth bacterial, viral, fungal and parasitic infections.
Sepsis is a highly heterogeneous syndrome that is caused by a dysregulated host response to infection. Hydrogen alleviates mitochondrial dysfunction and organ damage in sepsis.
As per the available data, there molecular hydrogen therapy has benefits for the respiratory, cardio, nervous, digestive, reproductive, urinary and motor systems. Please see our article on molecular hydrogen inhalation to learn more based on clinical trials and studies from across the world.
In 2017, scientists from Germany and China collaborated on a study on low frequency PEMF on bone cells. They found that PEMF induces antioxidative defense mechanisms under oxidative stress. This is just the tip of the iceberg, PEMF is well known for anti-oxidant effects in complex neurological conditions such as spinal cord injury, fibromyalgia and Alzheimer’s disease.
In a cell study utilizing 810 nm LLLT 20 mW/cm2 it was found that it reduces oxidative stress in primary cortical neurons. In another study using 660 nm wavelength LLLT, the scientists found that it modulated the inflammatory response intensity and accelerated skin tissue healing by a mechanism that involved oxidative damage reduction mostly at early stages of skin healing (inflammatory phase). So we can see that LLLT is another great tool to combat oxidative stress and is an excellent non-drug approach to do so.
As evident, from these studies all the tech we work with PEMF, LLLT and H2 have good amount of data that shows these are the panacea of longevity and health maintenance. Magnetic fields, light and hydrogen (the most abundant molecule in the universe) are the simplest solutions to the problems of aging and disease. theory of aging. So where to begin?
In my opinion, molecular hydrogen and mixed H2-O2 inhalation will beat oxidative stress and take out free radicals fastest. Next PEMF will energize the mitochondria by boosting oxygen carrying capacity and finally LLLT will work when the effects of PEMF have plateaued. So we come to a full circle. I was amazed 12 years back what PEMF could do, it sort of does these things in varied levels, but supplementing with H2 and LLLT, boy we have a protocol that doctors can only dream about!
Add static magnetic fields and air purification and start chiming in with Queen!
Of course I don’t expect anyone to do this at once. It took me years to listen to my body and give it what it needs. So please start slow and build up!
Hydrogen Inhalation Machines
Over the last three years, we tried many hydrogen systems, including some popular ones using Lye as a catalyst, and found those machines choke up in a couple of months and are very difficult to maintain. The newer technology we settled on is cleaner, more effective and easier to use and maintain.
After trying dozens of manufacturers, we finally found the best technology and bring these two systems for our customers - The Basic is a light-weight 9 liters per hour H2 + O2 Inhalation machine and the Pro is a full-featured molecular hydrogen system that provides 36 liters per hour H2 with an optional upgrade of adding 18 liters per hour of O2. Both provide hydrogen-rich water, Hydrogen and Oxyhydrogen inhalation and require no technical maintenance, you just need to add purified or distilled water to use.
